The Mysteɾy Behιnd Stone Cold’s No-Show At Wrestlemɑniɑ 40: InsιgҺts From A WWE Legen

WrestleMania 40, celebrated as one of the greatest spectacles in WWE history, culminated in a main event that could rival the grand finale of the Avengers’ “Endgame.” The epic showdown between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes not only captivated the audience but also introduced a series of dramatic interventions reminiscent of a blockbuster movie.

In the climactic moments of the match, Jimmy Uso made a surprise appearance, delivering a super-kick to Cody Rhodes. The action intensified when Jey Uso countered by spearing Jimmy off the ramp and through tables. The chaos escalated as Solo Sikoa entered the fray, attempting to replicate his previous interference that helped Reigns retain his championship. However, this time, John Cena intervened, saving Rhodes by taking out Sikoa and Reigns.

The drama peaked when The Rock stormed out, confronting John Cena in a nostalgic face-off, reigniting their storied rivalry 11 years after their last WrestleMania bout. While the crowd was electrified by these appearances, many were left wondering about the absence of another wrestling icon, Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was rumored to be returning.

Amidst speculation, WWE legend Vince Russo shed light on why Stone Cold might have decided against making a WrestleMania 40 appearance.

In a detailed discussion with SportsKeeda, Russo provided insights into Austin’s decision-making process. “There was a reason why the glass didn’t break last night,” Russo remarked, hinting at the iconic entrance music of Stone Cold that never played. “Austin is extremely protective of his character. He didn’t want to be just one of the many stars returning that night. Austin prefers scenarios where he can stand out distinctly.”

According to Russo, although the WWE likely reached out to Austin, the storyline primarily focused on The Rock and The Undertaker, not Austin. “The story was set for Rock and Taker, not Rock and Austin. Steve prefers to have a storyline centered around him if he’s to make an appearance,” he explained.

As the event concluded with The Undertaker making a dramatic entrance to choke-slam The Rock, and Cody Rhodes ending the formidable reign of Roman Reigns, the absence of Stone Cold was a talking point that lingered. Russo’s comments highlight the intricate dynamics of character legacy in WWE, explaining why even amidst the grandeur of WrestleMania, some legends choose to stay behind the curtain.
