New York, April 15 — A heated controversy ignited across social media and news outlets after a recent episode of The View featured comments that many viewers deemed inappropriate and out of bounds — particularly because they involved Elon Musk’s 4-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii.

During a panel discussion about celebrity parenting and public responsibility, one of the co-hosts made a remark referencing Musk’s son, using his unique name as part of a broader critique on what they labeled “eccentric billionaire behavior.” Although the comment appeared lighthearted at first, it quickly spiraled into harsh judgment that some interpreted as mockery directed at a child who has no control over public scrutiny.
The backlash was immediate.
Social media platforms were flooded with reactions from viewers and Musk supporters. Hashtags like #LeaveKidsOutOfIt, #MuskFamily and #TheViewControversy began trending within hours. Many accused the show of crossing a moral and ethical line by involving a young child in what should be adult-level discourse.
Elon Musk himself didn’t stay silent. Within minutes of the episode airing, the billionaire CEO took to X (formerly Twitter) with a blistering response:
“You can attack me all you want, but dragging a 4-year-old into your desperate ratings circus is disgusting. Shame on you.”
He followed up with another post:
“The View should issue an apology — not to me, but to every parent who expects decency when it comes to children.”
While some fans of the show defended the co–hosts’ freedom of expression and claimed the comment was misinterpreted, many are now calling for a formal on–air apology. ABC, the network behind The View, has yet to release an official statement.
