Rico Soegiarto was on his way home from work when he spotted a derelict dog lying in the middle of the road in Denpasar, Bali. The dog now looks very scary, it is severely emaciated, has wounds all over its body, is hairless, and is almost dying lying down to die.
Rico came over and checked. The dog is a Siberian Husky, in such a bad state that you wouldn’t even imagine. Rico takes a close look at the dog and decides he has to save it.

Rico had four rescued dogs at home at the time, but he felt some connection to this puppy. Looking into its eyes, he decided to name the dog Hope, meaning hope, which matches the dog’s bright blue eyes. When he looked into those eyes, he felt a glimmer of hope, despite the dog’s dire physical condition.
He brought the dog home and took care of it.
Rico treats wounds, cleans, and applies medicine to help hair grow back. Feed the dog a lot of food, things start to go very well. The dog has begun to gain weight and recover.
As time passed, Hope recovered more and more, her fur grew more, she had more skin, now she looks completely different from before.
Hope’s full recovery took 10 months, at which point Hope became a beautiful, healthy Husky.
Not only did Brother Rico rescue and transform Hope, but he also decided to adopt her!
