A deformed calf born with five legs has become a famous animal in the region and is revered by superstitious people from all over.
The villagers surround the mutant calf for a chance to touch it in hopes of getting good luck
The video shows villagers gathering in the field to take turns touching the strange calf in Surin province, northeast Thailand, on January 6. When the camera pans to the poor calf, it can be seen with an extra leg protruding from its back. Its fifth legs also have hooves, but they are woven together.
Amazingly, despite the mutation, a 2-year-old calf named Kamkoo is healthy and can run around the field grazing with his mother.

The family who owns the calf believe it will bring them good luck because according to the lunar calendar, 2021 is the year of the Ox, a species closely related to cows.
“I had a dream that my late father told me to take care of this calf and put the number 65 on the lottery ticket,” said Thongjan Glangvichit, the calf’s owner.
His wife Bualee said: “I dreamed that someone came and told me that 551-465 was going to be the winning number in the lottery.”
And it’s not just Kamkoo’s owners who believe it’s lucky. Local residents say that ever since the calf was born, they have dreamed of their relatives telling them the numbers they will use to score lottery tickets. Animal encounters are also said to be lucky.
In fact, the calf’s deformity is thought to be caused by “plymelia” – a birth defect that leads to the formation of an appendage in most land animals.
