Terrified to discover extremely rare 3-eyed snake in northern Australia

Australia is famous for being the land of snakes. You can find snakes ranging from the ordinary to the extremely poisonous. You can find snakes around the house, the beach, in the car…

Recently, also in the country of snakes, people have just discovered a snake with three strange eyes. The snake was discovered by a group of rangers on the Arnhem Highway, near Humpty Doo, just outside the city of Darwin in northern Australia, Sciencealert reports .

In addition to the two normal eyes, the snake’s third eye grows on its forehead

In addition to the two normal eyes, the snake’s third eye grows on its forehead. It seems that all three eyes are working properly. The X-ray also showed that the snake had one eye socket just like the other two, and that it was completely observant of the events on its head.

Posting on social media, the Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife Service said the snake was very special. It is possible that the animal’s third eye developed very early in embryonic development.

This cannot be the result of environmental factors, rather it is a natural occurrence due to an anomaly that is quite common in reptiles.

Sadly the animal died a few weeks after being discovered. Right now it’s just a baby snake.
