According to the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Manchester United has apparently received a “promise” from Atalanta player Rasmus Hojlund.
In order to advance the rebuild under Erik ten Hag’s direction, the Red Devils have chosen to improve their team during current transfer window. To strengthen their midfield, they have already acquired Mason Mount from Chelsea, and when David de Gea left, they are in early negotiations with Inter Milan to sign Andre Onana.
In preparation for the upcoming campaign, the Dutch manager prioritizes strengthening the attack, and over the past several months, United has been associated with a number of attackers. Although Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, and Randal Kolo Muani have all been considered as viable candidates, Hojlund is now starting to emerge as the top choice.
Hojlund has ‘promised himself’ to Man Utd and ‘is waiting to see if the two clubs’ can rapidly agree on a deal in principle,’ according to Sport Witness, citing and interpreting the print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

According to rumors, Man Utd and the player have already reached a personal agreement ahead of a prospective transfer, and the Red Devils are now preparing to make a first-round offer of £50 million to capture him.
As previously reported by Fabrizio Romano, Atalanta don’t want to let their star player leave for a bargain and are demanding a fee of about £60 million after signing the Danish international last summer. So it’s still unclear whether Man Utd will ultimately be able to reach a deal with La Dea to buy the 20-year-old.
Hojlund, who is 6 feet 3 inches tall, is lightning quick, strong, technically sound, and has exceptional close control. He can dribble past opposing defenders in confined spaces and can also convert his opportunities.
The Atalanta star has a lot of talent and has the chance to develop into a striker of the highest caliber in the future. He would therefore be a great acquisition for United in the long run.
Hojlund, though, is still a young prospect who will need time to develop in the Premier League. So, if he joins the team in the upcoming weeks, Old Trafford supporters should exercise patience rather than placing pressure on themselves.
