Since joining Manchester City, Ilkay Gundogan has quickly proven his ability and gradually become an irreplaceable element in The Citizens squad.
The current season, the German star is still playing an important role with 37 appearances in all competitions, contributing 4 goals and 4 assists. However, many speculate that this could be Gundogan’s last time at the Etihad, because he will expire at the end of the season and is considering the possibility of finding a new place.
Gundogan only has a contract until the end of the season at Man City.
According to Spanish newspaper AS, Barcelona coach Xavi has contacted Gundogan to discuss the possibility of moving to Camp Nou.
Reportedly, the negotiations went smoothly. Gundogan personally is willing to be a part of Xavi’s project, even if he has to take a pay cut. As for Barca, they plan to send Gundogan a 3-year contract if the two sides close a personal agreement.
