A detailed report shows that Cancelo has expressed anger when he is not playing regularly and especially being absent from Man City’s FA Cup win over Arsenal has become the final straw.
Cancelo’s move to Bayern was given the “green light” and ended quickly, with the Bundesliga champions having the option of buying the former Juventus player outright for £61m.

However, Cancelo seems to be returning to a dark phase. The Portuguese has played just 12 minutes in Bayern’s last two games and will not feature in Wednesday’s Champions League round of 16 second leg against PSG at the Allianz Arena.
Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that the 22-year-old matured player from Bayern Munich’s youth academy Josip Stanisic will be in the starting XI instead of Cancelo at full-back.
Bayern’s style of play under Julian Nagelsmann is different from the philosophy that coach Pep Guardiola applied to Man City when he was playing there. In addition, Bayern now also play with a three-back formation, meaning there is no room for the type of player like Cancelo, who prefers to move into the middle to make the ball.
Cancelo is said to be sad and frustrated and the look on his face during Sunday’s training session seems to prove it.
