Cristiano Ronaldo LOCKED THE HEAD of his opponent and knocked him down like a WWE athlete

In the 57th minute of Tuesday’s match against Al-Hilal, Cristiano Ronaldo made headlines for an unusual tackle that landed him a yellow card from the referee. The Portuguese international was seen grabbing midfielder Gustavo Cuellar in a headlock before slamming him to the ground, using a technique reminiscent of a professional wrestler’s finishing move.

It appears that Ronaldo may have taken inspiration from Dolph Ziggler, a former World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE, who is known for his signature move, the ZigZag. Ziggler himself noticed the similarity and posted a gif of himself performing the move on Alberto Del Rio while standing on top of a ladder.

The move in question involves grabbing an opponent’s head and neck before jerking them downwards in a zigzag-like motion. It was first used by Ziggler in his comeback match against Batista in 2008 and has since become one of his trademark moves.

This is not the first time that Ronaldo has courted controversy on the pitch. He received his first caution for reacting furiously after the referee blew for halftime while he was in possession of the ball during a 3-1 victory over Abha in the King Cup.

Despite Ronaldo’s impressive record of 11 goals and two cautions in his first 13 games with Al Nassr, his team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Al-Hilal in Tuesday’s match. Al-Nassr currently trails Al-Ittihad by three points in the standings, but the latter still has a game in hand.
