WWE has had some epic premium live events in 2024. The promotion has hosted stadium shows in front of tens of thousands of fans at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania. Meanwhile, another stadium show is rapidly approaching.
SummerSlam 2024 will be airing at the beginning of August, and it will take place live from the Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio. Well, over 40,000 fans are expected to be attending the epic event.
A ton of big stars have already been announced to compete at the show. The likes of Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Gunther, Liv Morgan, Bayley, and The Bloodline, among others, are set to appear. In addition to major matches, there could also be some intriguing swerves.
More specifically, SummerSlam could be the host of some shocking betrayals. This article will take a look at a handful of likely betrayals that may very well happen at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
Below are four potential betrayals that could take place at WWE SummerSlam this year.
#4. Randy Orton may stab Cody Rhodes in the back at WWE SummerSlam
Randy Orton is one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE’s modern history. He is a 14-time world champion. Despite his success, The Viper was nearly taken away from fans due to a serious back injury. Thankfully, he returned last year and is as good as ever.
The Viper has been aligned with two WWE stars since returning to television last November. The first is Kevin Owens, as the two are in a team known as R-KO. The other man is Cody Rhodes, someone he has been associated with for over 15 years.
Unfortunately, it seems as if he’ll betray The American Nightmare soon. Orton has routinely shown a fascination with the world title Cody has. Knowing The Viper, an RKO out of nowhere might soon be in Rhodes’ future.
#3. The Judgment Day and Damian Priest may finally split up
The Judgment Day has long been one of the most dominant factions in WWE. The group consists of Damian Priest, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Rhea Ripley, and Dominik Mysterio, although Carlito is also looking to join.
Unfortunately, there has been a lot of dissension within the ranks. Two stars who have particularly been at each other’s throats are Finn Balor and Damian Priest. This could lead to a heartbreaking betrayal at WWE SummerSlam.
There is a chance that Finn, JD, Carlito, and maybe even Dirty Dom will cost Damian his match against Gunther. From there, the four men will put Priest out of The Judgment Day. This would cause shockwaves within the group, and Rhea Ripley surely wouldn’t be happy. Of course, The Eradicator has her own issues to deal with.
#2. Dominik Mysterio could cost Rhea Ripley a major winExpand Tweet
Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley aren’t just two WWE stars who happen to be in The Judgment Day together; they are also dating on-screen. Their relationship, however, has taken a rocky turn in recent months.
The Eradicator of The Judgment Day was injured by Liv Morgan, and that has kept Rhea away from television up until recently. In the meantime, Morgan has captured the Women’s World Championship and regularly attempts to seduce Dominik Mysterio, albeit to a mixed reception.
When Rhea and Liv clash at SummerSlam, Liv’s seductive tactics may prove to have been successful. Dirty Dom may betray his on-screen girlfriend and join Liv’s side. This could lead to both Rhea and Damian being booted from The Judgment Day, but with Morgan joining the faction.
#1. Tiffany Stratton could cash in on Nia Jax

A big-time match is set for SummerSlam. Bayley will put her WWE Women’s Championship on the line against Nia Jax. The powerful Jax earned the right to this bout by winning the 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament.
Interestingly, Jax has also been forming a new alliance. She and Tiffany Stratton are fast becoming friends, uniting against Bayley and the likes of both Michin and Naomi. Still, there is a wrinkle in their friendship now that The Buff Barbie is Ms. Money in the Bank.
There is a chance that their budding friendship could come to a dramatic end at SummerSlam. If Nia somehow manages to dethrone Bayley, Tiffany could then cash in her briefcase on Jax and win the WWE Women’s Championship. Ultimately, Stratton will do whatever it takes to be the champion, even if it is at Nia’s expense.
