Anthony Joshua has not fought since losing by knockout to his junior Daniel Dubois, missing out on the IBF heavyweight world title last September. The historic match between Joshua and Tyson Fury was also questioned when Fury unexpectedly announced his retirement earlier this year. But Joshua could be in for a new match worth “3-5 times more” than his match with Tyson Fury.

The interesting thing is that the boxer who is being matched with Joshua is not a true professional boxer, but boxer and youtuber Jake Paul. The American amateur boxer openly “called out” Joshua’s name in a challenging and arrogant manner on the BS w/ Jake Paul program broadcast on youtube.
There, Jake Paul declared: “I want to fight Anthony Joshua, because I know how to beat him to a pulp”. In response to the above insolent words, former world heavyweight boxing champion AJ added fuel to the fire when he posted on his Instagram account a photo of him calling Jake Paul with a 2-fist icon and an emoji face saying “shut up”.
Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua “squawked” about the fight that was considered “5 times bigger” than the Joshua vs Fury match

After the above argument, Jake Paul’s co-promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, quickly posted comments that the Joshua vs Paul match, if arranged to take place, would be the biggest professional match ever in the American youtuber’s career.
“Ultimately, the Joshua vs Paul fight will be worth 3-5 times more than the Joshua vs Fury fight, in terms of the global market. That fight cannot take place in the UK, but the US is really suitable for organizing a hardcore boxing match like Joshua vs Paul,” promoter Bidarian declared.
Up to this point, Jake Paul has had 12 professional boxing matches, in which this youtuber has impressed with 11 wins. Most recently, Jake Paul defeated the living legend, “older” by 30 years, Mike Tyson in mid-November last year.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua is expected to be fully fit again and ready to fight from next May, since losing to Daniel Dubois in September 2024. The Joshua vs Fury fight was once rumored to be worth up to $200 million, but is now almost impossible to arrange as Fury has retired.
Several names have also been mentioned for Joshua’s next fight, including former WBC champion Deontay Wilder, a boxer who is considered to be… nearing the end of his career after suffering consecutive losses recently.
