Opening up your home to a rescue animal is one of the kindest things you can do. But so often senior dogs are overlooked. That’s not the case at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, California, where all of the residents are older pups looking for a home.
A tour of the current residents at Muttville is pretty much the cutest thing ever. We hope each and every one of these dogs gets a loving forever home soon.
Shared by Lisa of Lisa and the Senior Pups, the video shows the woman entering the shelter and getting a greeting from the best crew around.
“Let’s see who’s here today!” she said before opening the door and being met with a whole host of tiny angels. They were all so friendly too.

“It’s been such a long time since we visited Muttville Senior Dog Rescue! There were soooo many cute dogs today and guess what?! They’re all available for adoption!” Lisa added in the caption.
Muttville is essentially Heaven for dog lovers. Which is probably why so many people were pining for one of the senior dogs. “Spectacular give me 14 of them right now,” someone commented. “Notice how peaceful this room is, senior dogs are the best babies,” another commenter praised. “All of these sweet babies deserve the world,” chimed in another commenter. “I can’t go into places like these because I’ll leave with all of them,” admitted someone else.
Why You Should Adopt a Senior Dog
Some people might not consider adopting a senior dog. But there are so many reasons why you should. Senior dogs have a lot of love to give. And there are certain perks to bypassing the puppy years too.
Senior dogs don’t need to be potty trained like puppies do. They’ve also been trained, so they should know basic commands and leashing training. And if you like your furniture, older dogs are less likely to chew on that too.
Some people love cuddling up on the couch with their pets, which is another reason why senior dogs could be the right move. You could probably consider them to be couch potatoes. They won’t go on a hike or long walks with you, but they’ll watch Love Island with you in bed.
Another perk is that you’ll know exactly what you’re going to get with senior dogs. Their personalities are fully formed by that point, which means you’ll know pretty quickly if they’re going to be your best pal. Senior dogs really are the greatest. You just need to give them a chance.
