After Successfully Defending The Championship At PLE, Who Will Be Cody Rhodes’ Next Opponent? Explore Potential Opponents For Cody

The American Nightmare ended his rivalry with The Phenomenal One at Clash at the Castle 2024.

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is one of the top babyfaces in the company and has been leading the new era of the company by holding the Undisputed WWE Championship. Rhodes has been having a busy reign with the title and has been defending it on every PLEs.

Cody Rhodes recently defended his title on the line against AJ Styles in an ‘I Quit Match’ at Clash at the Castle and forced Styles to say ‘I Quit’ to end their feud. After a successful championship defense at the PLE, who should be the next opponent for Cody Rhodes? Here we explore the potential opponents for Cody.

1. Solo SikoaAfter the successful title defense against AJ Styles at Clash at the Castle, Solo Sikoa confronted Cody in the entrance ramp and Bloodline initiated an attack on the champion, however, Kevin Owens & Randy Orton saved the champ. It seems like The New Bloodline has set their eyes on Cody Rhodes and the Undisputed WWE Championship again. Based on the tease, ‘The New Head of the Table’ Solo Sikoa could be the next challenger for Cody Rhodes and his Undisputed WWE Championship.

2. Kevin OwensKevin Owens could face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Money in the Bank PLE. Kevin Owens has a huge history with the title, as he had multiple attempts and went so close to winning the title, during Roman Reigns’ reign. The title is now free from Bloodline and he could give it an attempt against Cody.

Although both are babyfaces, Kevin Owens deserves a title shot in his home country. Since the Money in the Bank is in Canada & analyzing WWE’s current trend to involve home country wrestlers in big matches makes Owens a rightful contender for the title.

3. Randy OrtonRandy Orton and Cody Rhodes have had a great legacy together since the early days of their career in WWE. Orton was so close to becoming the rightful contender for the Undisputed WWE Championship but lost in the King of the Ring tournament finals in a controversial way. Since Orton has never lost the tournament cleanly, he could request Nick Aldis for a title shot against Rhodes.
