Unseen Blunder at Clash at the Castle: Cody Rhodes Mistakenly Introduced as Women’s Champion!

WWE fans spot ‘epic blunder’ at Clash at the Castle before major Cody Rhodes title match

WWE dropped a clanger at the start of its Clash at the Castle: Scotland event and fans online couldn’t help but laugh.

The grappling giant is once again back on UK shores for a major show, with Clash at the Castle airing from Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on Saturday night.

Fans didn’t have to wait long for one of the night’s biggest matches, either – the WWE Undisputed Championship I Quit Match was up first, with Cody Rhodes successfully defending his title in a superb outing against AJ Styles.

Viewers online enjoyed the outing, but couldn’t help but discuss a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it howler just as the in-ring introductions were about to be made.

Seconds before Rhodes and Styles were announced to the crowd, a strapline flashed up on screen while Rhodes was being shown – but not displaying his name and championship.

Placeholder text of ‘TALENT TAME’ was in place of Rhodes – who was also listed as being a ‘Women’s Tag Team Champion.’

It was quickly taken down again, and the correct graphics for champ Rhodes and Styles were duly shown as intended – but there was enough time for fans online to have picked up on it, and for them to have their fun.

“It wasn’t Cody Rhodes it was talent name!” insisted one user on X, with another posing the question for Rhodes: “Which is worse?
Talent name or Women’s tag team champions?”

“Big up Talent Name,” quipped another, while a further fan added: “My favorite wrestler! The Women’s Tag Team Champions Talent Name!!”

One other fan joked: “Lol, that was a epic blunder, women tag team and the talent name.”

Fans quipped that there was a new champion on the WWE scene
The match that followed will, thankfully, live far longer in the memory beyond Saturday night than the technical glitch.

There was plenty of peril for the champion, who at one stage ‘passed out’ and unable to answer the call of the referee as to whether or not he wanted to quit and end the match.

Challenger Styles also involved handcuffs, a table, and even threw threats towards Rhodes’ mother watching at ringside, only for her to hit back at him with a couple of slaps.

Back in the ring and with Rhodes back at it, Styles started to take some punishment of his own – notably a chair into the face that caused him to topple out of the ring and through a nearby table.

Rhodes then pummelled the veteran former champ with multiple chairshots and Cross Rhodes, even launching a set of steel steps into the ring and bringing them into play – forcing Styles to quit on the spot before having to take them full in the face.

That left Rhodes victorious and Glasgow delighted – especially as he hurled the steps at Styles after the final bell anyway.

The American Nightmare’s evening wasn’t done there, though – The Bloodline sprung an attack as he made his way to the locker room, though heroes Kevin Owens and Randy Orton were swiftly on hand to event the odds.

The I Quit Match was a brutal way to start Clash at the CastleSaturday’s epic show came hot on the heels of a memorable Friday Night Smackdown show at the same venue.

The episode was highlighted by a return of veteran Randy Orton, who made a comeback from a storyline injury to aid partner Kevin Owens in his battle against The Bloodline
