Monet, birth photographer Nicole Moutrie of Denver, Colorado, United States, has been documenting childbirth for eight years. She conveys the thrill, joy, love, and exhaustion that mothers feel while holding their newborns for the first time in this astounding series of powerful photographs.
Each photograph is significant and conveys several feelings. There is anticipation, relief, anguish, love, curiosity, excitement, joy, and resolve.
Monet claims that she started shooting childbirth after witnessing the birth of her nephew. “Taking photographs of my adorable nephew during his first few hours of life was really fulfilling. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to enter the field of birth photography.
