There is no “correct” or “wrong” strategy when it comes to childbirth. Some women chose home births, some hospitals, and others water births. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists advises that in a tub of water may be most beneficial during the initial stage of labor, since the benefits of a water birth during the pushing and stages have not been well explored.
