Ric Flair, the 75-year-old WWE icon, has broken his silence following a heated confrontation with a manager at Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza in Gainesville, Florida. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, was captured on video and quickly went viral.
In the three-minute clip posted by TMZ, Flair can be seen in a verbal altercation with the manager, using derogatory terms. The following day, Flair appeared on The MJ Morning Show on Q105 to explain his side of the story, admitting that his emotions had gotten the best of him.
“It just escalated, and I was wrong for getting mad, but I kind of felt like I was defending my position,” Flair said. “I was wrong for losing my temper. When I feel like I’m put in that area where I’m uncomfortable and all of a sudden everything just fell apart, I got upset.”
The situation intensified when a patron at the bar intervened, challenging Flair to a confrontation outside. Fortunately, the altercation did not escalate further, and no physical fight occurred.
Flair took to Instagram to express his frustration with the restaurant, claiming he spent $1,500 at Piesanos and felt disrespected. He criticized the establishment for the way the situation was handled, particularly over an alleged issue involving the kitchen manager.
However, by Wednesday, Flair had cooled down and admitted he overreacted. “I was wrong for getting upset. I probably just should have walked out the door, but it caught me so off-guard because we were having a wonderful time,” he said. He also mentioned that he ordered food from Piesanos later that evening through UberEats, noting the restaurant’s great food.
Reflecting on the incident, Flair said, “I’ve never, in my entire life, had an experience like this. Isn’t that funny? Over something that happened in the bathroom, which nobody would know about.”
Despite the heated moment, Flair emphasized that it was an unusual experience for him and expressed regret for his reaction.
