It’s hard to believe how little compassion other people have for animals. Especially once they have one. Alas, the disheartening stories of mistreatment and abandoned pets, and an RSPCA safe shelter march in Leicester, England, made headlines, but yet another case.
A group of Woodside Animal Refuge staff were shocked when the painting was brought here on a Wednesday in March to find it tied to its front gate. It is not clear who left him there or how long he has been there without food or water (despite the fact that it cannot be one evening).
The cute little pup was just hoping that someone would find her and she got so excited when she saw her rescuers. A spokeswoman for the safe haven said during a handout, “She was standing jointed next to her head driven through the bars of the gate,Misty apparently had a difficult life before rescues found her. For starters, she was malnourished and photos showed ribs under her skin. There was also a wound on his nose and a skin disease that had to be treated.
Her rescuers found a microchip on Misty, but when they called the amount she was registered for, they were informed that she was years old. There was no further information as to why this was the case or who the owners of his next house were (nor how he was left here). Since England has enacted a comprehensive Animal Welfare Act (up-to-the-minute in 2006), its abandonment is considered a prison offence. Crime. An investigation was opened and is ongoing.
Woodside Animal Center posted ideas on Facebook and urged anyone with information about her “home owners” to come forward. His post said in part: “You’d like to see an inside story these days there were only a few short staffie tied to our gates in Woodside. This matter is being addressed urgently via RSPCA HQ Because it is now often a matter of jail.
Staffie is being cared for at Woodside and is receiving specialist care to verify that she is physically and mentally healthy. In March, her rescuers posted a touching exchange to the sweet Staffordshire Bull Terrier, according to a concerned citizen: “Misty is doing great and recovering well in our care. Once she’s ready for rehoming, comes into the market, we’re going to be able to provide a full exchange.In June, she went up for adoption after the lockdown ended in England and was immediately found by a forever home, which is trying to give her a startling life. Misty’s new mom, Jen Wingfield, posted {{a photo}} and an exchange about the pup for concerned animal-lovers who wanted to make sure she was adjusting correctly. “She is absolutely stunning and has settled in beautifully. I am so blessed to have been asked to be her mom and dad,” Wingfield wrote in the comments on Misty’s adoption post.
We are so snug for this little lady! And keep in mind, there is always a better option than to give up an animal!
