In a recent exchange, Alexis Sanchez spoke up about the whole process that led to his joining Manchester United in the past. Metro quotes the Chilean star:
“I’m going to Man City , I talk to Guardiola every day, he even congratulates me on my birthday. He’s like a father to me.”
“We chat every day, he sends me messages. Everything is ready, there’s a player coming to Arsenal.”
Sanchez is currently the mainstay of Marseille.
“Then Wenger told me, ‘you won’t leave because the player doesn’t want to come’, and Arsenal have no replacement.”
“Suddenly, the cell phone rang. Mourinho told me: ‘Alexis, this is the number seven for you.’”
“It’s not about the money, everyone knows. He said to me, ‘this is the number 7 shirt, we are playing in the Champions League and we will give it our all.’”
“I wanted to leave at the time, but I accepted Guardiola’s offer.”
“That’s when I said to myself, a Chilean player who plays for Manchester United, this has never happened.”
“With sevens like Cantona, Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and now a Chilean, it’s a dream.”
” I don’t regret coming to Manchester United , everything happens for a reason.”
“I wanted to go to Man City, yes. We should have won the Champions League. In the final I will do something.”
