Cody Rhodes Reveals Unique Reason For Staying In Touch With John Cena, Shedding Light On His Strategy For WWE Success

Cody Rhodes, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, has opened up about a unique aspect of his journey to the top: his ongoing relationship with WWE legend John Cena. Known as The American Nightmare, Rhodes is not only a top performer but also one of the company’s highest-selling merch sellers. His connection with Cena plays a crucial role in his success.

Currently, Rhodes is locked in a fierce feud with The Bloodline. Fresh off a victory against AJ Styles in an intense “I Quit” Match at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, Rhodes found himself face-to-face with Solo Sikoa, reigniting their bitter rivalry.

In a revealing interview on The Pivot, Rhodes shared that he regularly sends his merchandise sales numbers to Cena, seeking the 16-time WWE World Champion’s honest feedback. This practice underscores the importance of having a trustworthy mentor in a cutthroat industry.

“You have to have somebody look at it and break it down for you. That’s the best thing that can happen because then you go, ‘Okay, I have room to grow. Here is what I want to do.’ I get my merch sheet still of what I sold in the Garden, percentage, all this. I’ll tell you who I send it to. I don’t send it to him as ‘Hey, check it out.’ I send it to him because I know he’s going to tell me the truth. It’s (John) Cena. It’s never, ‘Unbelievable, great job, you’re there. You’ve made it.’ It’s always, ‘Well, why don’t you check the other shows you’re not on and see how you’re doing there.’ Come on, man,” Rhodes explained.

Rhodes’ transparency about seeking Cena’s guidance highlights his commitment to constant improvement, even as he stands at the pinnacle of the wrestling world.

Looking ahead, Cody Rhodes is set to be in action at Money in the Bank 2024. He will join forces with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to take on three members of The Bloodline in what promises to be a thrilling showdown. The stakes are higher than ever, especially with Jacob Fatu recently debuting as the newest member of The Bloodline. Fatu’s dramatic entrance on SmackDown, where he saved Solo Sikoa from an attack and put Rhodes through the announce table, has added a new layer of intensity to the feud.

Meanwhile, Solo Sikoa has expressed a desire to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, setting the stage for an explosive confrontation. As Cody Rhodes continues to navigate these challenges, his reliance on John Cena’s candid advice remains a testament to his strategic mindset and unwavering dedication to his craft.
